A photographic book, with Spanish text, illustrating flowering plant diversity in the selva alta of northern Peru. This resulted from six field seasons of collecting and exploration in the selva alta of northern San Martin. [Alto Mayo Report] |
Discussion of each genus contains information on plant form,
habitat preferences, recorded elevations, Peruvian departmental
and extra-Peruvian geographic distributions, and common names
when available.
In addition, an annotated floristic checklist of the selva alta forests
containing over 600 species of ferns, gymnosperms, and angiosperms
represented by vouchers is presented as an appendix.
Future volumes in this series will treat the floras of other northern
Peruvian environments, including coastal deserts and páramos.
